Excerpt Wednesday

With age comes wisdom. With experience comes knowledge. When we are young, we think we know everything. When we are aged, we know that there is so much more to learn.

Our elders are our teachers, to be honored and revered. Perhaps Mama Weaver will teach Corwyn more lessons than he bargained for, when all is said and done.

With that, here is your excerpt.

Without waiting for a response, she immediately grabbed a gnarled cane and began striking him about the head and chest.

“Thief!” She yelled. “Brigand!”

“Whoa!  No, wait!  Please!” He instinctively raised his arms and easily parried the strikes.  For a skinny woman who was really nothing more than bone and loose skin, the woman could swing a cane with quite a wallop. 

“Wait?  For you to kill me?”  She shrieked as she tried ever harder to land a blow. “Be gone, ruffian!  You will find no easy game here!”

She struck furiously at the intruder. It was all he could do to fend her off, smiling in spite of the situation.  “Please! stop!  It is I! Corwyn Du’Serradyn!”
