How full is your empty glass?

I was talking to my son the other day. He said he wasn’t looking forward to Monday. Of course, I had to ask him why.

He said that he didn’t want to go back to school from the long Thanksgiving vacation. Now, I had a feeling that this was the reason. Since, well, I’m human and LOVE my vacation time, too.

So, what did a conscientious daddy do? Well, I told him that he only had three weeks to go until his Christmas holidays. He needed to bare down, focus on work and power through the next 15 days of school. His hard work would make the vacation all the sweeter.

“See,” I said, “You have to look at the glass as half full. Yes, you are going back to school, but look at how close you are to being done with this semester. Look at all the hard work you have put in to being a better student.”

He understood. My point, Mondays make us often feel like our glass is half empty. We need to take stock and realize that Mondays are actually the start of great accomplishments that lie ahead.

Our glass is half full.

Here’s your quote of the day:

See the glass as half full, then fill it the rest of the way.
