Living life with arms wide open.

We had a great interview with Robin Lythgoe, recently. She is an amazing writer and blogger, and she went out of her way to assist us in getting the word out about Necromancers’ Pride – Quest for Elderstone. Every little bit helps, and that gesture made a huge difference in the marketing of the novel.

There are so many steps and stages to writing a novel. D.W. and I are constantly learning, and the knowledge that we acquire definitely makes a difference in what we do moving forward. As we work on the next installment in the saga, Tides of War, we are constantly reminded of why we do what we do. Yes, we want to leave a legacy of quality literature for future generations and, yes, we want to spend our days doing what we love.

Those are key components of why we do what we do. However, one of the biggest impetuses for success is for us to make a difference in this world. Just as Robin’s efforts made a difference to us, we want to make a difference to others. It is easy to be out solely for yourself. It is when you give of yourself, though, that the real rewards are achieved.

It is like what D.W. always says, “When you move through the world with your arms closed, nothing can come in and change your life. When you open up your arms and give of yourself, you are ready to receive all the good that life has to offer.”

As we move through our busy week, let us all be aware of how we might be able to influence and assist others. I know that we are all busy. However, we should never be too busy to lend a hand. It all comes back to you when you move through life with your arms wide open.

If the mistakes we have made (more by D.W. than by me) can help others avoid the same foibles, then we have made a difference. If we can be here to guide others, if we can be an example, by word and by deed, then we have made a difference.

How can you make a difference in the lives of others? How can you help someone with whom you interact?

This is your community. We want to hear from you.
