What’s YOUR favorite?

As authors and storytellers, D.W. and I have myriad influences that have contributed to who we are and how we view and relate to the world.

In the world we have created, the world of Necromancers’ Pride, once again, there are many influences on how we envisioned it and brought it to life. I would be remise if I did not pay homage to the one author who has influenced me above most others. His name is R.A. Salvatore. His books and characters have brought me joy, entertainment and, most of all, inspiration for decades.

Geesh…am I that old? I guess so kids, don’t let the babyface fool you. I am wise beyond my years.

In honoring the contributions Mr. Salvatore has made to my life, I am going to have to answer the question of, “What’s your favorite book?” -outside of the Necomancers’ Pride Saga, of course- with the first book in which I ever had the pleasure of meeting Drizzt Do’Urden. The Crystal Shard.

Salvatore captured the essence of what it was to be whisked into the world of Dungeons & Dragons with his well developed characters, amazing locations and brilliant fight sequences. His is a standard highly set, and one that will be the constant benchmark for me as to what it takes to craft a masterful fantasy adventure.

Thank you, Mr. Salvatore. I truly don’t know what I would have done without you.
