Jason’s Blog: The Seven Mystical Wonders of Tarune – The Statues

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!

Today I get to defy decomposition! Introducing, “The Statues”.

 

DISCLAIMER: All of my blogs are fictional representations of the world of Necromancers’ Pride. This is not an actual part of the world, but I think it would be cool if it was.

A very long time ago, there was a cult of monks who meandered aimlessly through the Nortgard Forest. They were called the “Quaq Sheo” or “Forest Psychics”. These peaceful monks would patrol the forest and ensure that the grass would be the brightest green, the trees were all tall as they could be, and that the wildlife would have plenty of food to eat. Originally Oracles, the Quaq Sheo separated from them to become one with nature itself.

Then, the apocalypse of the Mourning Night occurred. Life was being drained out of all of the organisms and the Quaq Sheo couldn’t stop the destruction of their precious home. So, with their combined power, they latched themselves onto the plants and drained their own energy out of themselves so that the Nortgard would still be flourishing in the future. As the war grew longer, the Quaq Sheo began to die out. Their bodies have fossilized and turned to stone because of the tremendous amount of time that had passed. Their organs still remain in their shells, but their spirits are now one with the life spirit of the Nortgard forest. They have been embalmed by the energies that have blessed their souls for protecting the Nortgard forest. Travelers from all over the Known Kingdoms trek to the Nortgard to pay respect to the men who gave their lives to save one of Aldara’s most iconic natural wonders.

Many have tried to destroy the statues, claiming they are something of the past and should move on. But somehow, without any action from the Aldaran government, they are stopped as if there were a supernatural force that is protecting the Quaq Sheo’s corpses.
